Atlas Film Studios, Ouarzazate
Atlas Film Studios, also known as Atlas Corporation Studios, may be the Hollywood of Morocco but it is hardly Universal Studios. There are no rides or special effect simulations at this working film site. What’s more the film sets, even recent ones, are weathered and faded. Having said that, a tour of this 30,000 sq meter desert film studio is worthwhile if viewing film props is your cup of tea. The Egyptian temple used in the film Cleopatra and Tibetan monastery featured in Scorsese’s Kudan are but two of the set decorations on view.
