Buenos Aires Botanical Garden, Palermo
The Buenos Aires Botanical Garden, officially known as Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays, is an oasis for families and offers travelers a chance to pause. Conceived by the French-born Argentine architect and landscaper Carlos Thays in 1898, this garden of exotic plants is more than 7 hectares of green and is home to near 5,500 species of plants, trees and shrubs. Getting There
The Buenos Aires Botanical Garden is located at Avenida Santa Fé 395 in the barrio of Palermo and is bounded by Av. Santa Fe, Av. Gral. Las Heras and Calle Repubblica Arabe Siria. The nearest subte stops are Plaza Itália and Scalabrini Ortiz on the D line. Numerous colectivos or city buses stop near the botanical garden.
Hours & Times
The garden is open daily 8:00-18:00 in winter and 8:00-20:00 in summer. Guided tours are offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Children's programs are offered regularly.
Admission & Fees
Admission is free of charge for all visitors. There is no charge for guided tours and educational programs are free.
