Bocca della Verità

Bocca della Verità, Rome

La Bocca della Verità, Mouth of Truth in English, may be a five second Rome attraction but it is well worth the trek and queue. Camera ready, have your child (or partner) place a hand in the mouth of this round, man-like carving. Hand in mouth, ask a question they will be tempted to answer with a fib. The marble mouth doesn’t bite, as the legend of this medieval lie detector proposes, but it will likely turn a few checks red. And create yet another fun memory of a family holiday in Rome.
