Sipping coffee and discussing politics is an all day affair for Porteños. Café Tortoni is one of best coffee bars in central Buenos Aires to experience this pastime. Not only is it one of the city's oldest and most lavish cafés, Café Tortoni has attracted artists and intellectuals since it opened in 1858.
Tango Nuevo
Tango nuevo, also known as neotango and new tango, is the modern version of tango music. The music is a mix of traditional tango rhythms and new sounds. Tango nuevo bands include a saxophone and electric guitar. Astor Piazzolla first created the new music in the 1950s. He revolutionized the tango by blending it with jazz. Contemporary musicians such as Gotan Project and Carlos Libedinsky have further experimented with the style and mixed traditional tango and electronic sound.
