Cañadón Escondido, Villa el Chocón

Rating:

In the Valley of the Dinosaurs, time has left its mark in more ways than one. The geology of Cañadón Escondido, Hidden Canyon in Spanish, dates back more than 120 million years. Visible only once you reach the rim, the canyon is over 20 km (12 miles) long and, in places, 80 meters (262 feet) deep. Tour the area with a guide and discover dinosaur footprints and more.

Getting there

From Villa El Chocón, take route 237 south for 3 km (1.8 miles) to the dirt road leading to the canyon.
