Cape Vidal, St. Lucia Park
There is more to a family vacation at Cape Vidal than angling. At low tide, this gorgeous stretch of sand is a great place to snorkel and swim. The rock pools, perfect for the tikes, are a microcosm of reef life and bustling with activity. Self-guided day hikes wind through forested dunes to the shore of Lake Bhangazi or make their along the sparkling Indian Ocean coast and offer an opportunity for the kids to spot mammals big and small. View wildebeest, impala, zebra, reedbuck, hippo, buffalo, waterbuck and humpback whales. Guided night tours provide an opportunity to spy on nature. Observe loggerhead and leatherback turtles as they hatch and nest. And while the peak fishing season is bustling, there are no crowds at Cape Vidal.
