Ernesto Bachmann Museum, Valley of the Dinosaurs

 
A trip to Museo Municipal Ernesto Bachmann is all about Giganotosaurus Carolinii. Both original fossils and full-scale replica of this large theropod are on display at this small paleontology museum. Other exhibits include fossils of trees, turtles, and toads as well as two of more giants, Carnotaurus sastrei and Neuquensaurus australis.

Getting There
 
The Ernesto Bachmann Municipal Museum is located in the Villa el Chocón Civic Center (Centro Cívico). Villa el Chocón is situated 87 km (54 miles) southwest of Neuquén. From Neuquén, take route 22 to route 237.

The museum is open daily 8:00 - 21:00 in January and February and 9:00 - 19:00 the remainder of the year. The Paleontology for a Day exhibit is open summers only.

Admission is charged. Children under 6 years of age are free of charge. A separate fee is charged for the Paleontology for a Day exhibit.
