The German Post Office Museum is by no means grand yet this minute collection offers insight to a brief moment in history and depicts the importance of the postal system in colonial times. Established in 1888 as part of the German entry into Kenya, the German Post Office in Lamu operated for just three years. Exhibits include photographs and memorabilia from the German colonial period and explore the role of postal service as a form of communication in colonial times.
