Puerto Madryn is the top snorkeling and scuba diving destination in Argentina. Wide beaches, abundant fauna and clear water are an invitation to beginners and experts alike. But don't forget to pack or rent a wetsuit, the water is always cold. Top scuba diving spots include Punta Este, Folias Wreck (Parana Beach), Punta Cuevas Shoal, Rio de Oro, Las Pedras Park, Punta Ameghino, Wreck Albatros as well as numerous artificial diving parks. For snorkeling, try Punta Este, Kaiser, Cerro Avanzado and Punta Cuevas. Summer, from December to February, is the best time of year for both.
