The Great Passion Play, Eureka Springs

The Great Passion Play has seen better days. Having said that, the exhibits at this Christian theme park are worth the visit. View exhibits at the Bible Museum and Museum of Earth History. See a towering statue of Jesus known as the Christ of the Ozarks. Take a Living Bible Tour. View a full-scale re-creation of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. There is more to the Great Passion Play than a dramatic presentation depicting the Passion of Christ.

Passion of Christ

The Passion of Christ is the story told by Christians detailing the events and suffering of Jesus in the final days of his life. Jesus, a religious teacher and leader, arrives in Jerusalem a few days before Passover and is hailed as the messiah. Within a few short days he is arrested by the Romans, mocked by the people, betrayed by his followers, and executed by public crucifixion, the most shameful death of the time. Christ's passion, from the Latin word patior meaning to suffer or endure, is a story about doubt, fear and injustice. The Passion is referred to the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The tale is told at Easter and brings hope to all Christians.
