Inveraray Castle is located on the north edge of Inveraray. The castle is reachable by foot from anywhere in the village. Parking is available onsite.

Hours & Times
The castle is open daily 10:00 - 17:45 April through October. The last admission is at 17:00. Tours of the private apartments are available by separate arrangement.

A flat fairytale castle

Inveraray Castle is a stately residence. The grounds are beautiful, the castle exquisite. Yet our experience fell short. We visited in April and the castle tours were not yet operating. In lieu of a guide, we were handed information sheets. While they were choc-a-block with information, they transmitted no emotion. We left knowing much about the Campbell clan as well as the weapons and furniture on display but little about the fairytale.
