Kanon Kopje, Mafikeng
San-speaking hunter and gatherers first occupied Kanon Kopje, located on the southern bank of the Molopo River, roughly 8,000 years ago. The Goshenites launched their attack from here between 1882 and 1884. And during the Warren Expedition of 1885, the fort was erected to protect the town. The site is well maintained and provides a good view of Mafikeng and the surrounding area.
