Ladysmith Siege Museum, Ladysmith

Rating:

Notwithstanding its focus on the siege of Ladysmith, the Siege Museum is considered one of the best Anglo-Boer War museums in South Africa. Built in 1884 as a marketplace, the museum served as a ration post throughout the siege and was converted into a museum and library in 1965. The museum houses a collection of Boer War artifacts as well as a diorama depicting Ladysmith at the time of the siege.
