The Ladysmith Siege Museum, one of the best South African War museums, is a great place to start a tour of the Anglo-Boer Battlefields. The small museum houses a collection of Anglo-Boer War artifacts, maps, uniforms and photographs as well as a diorama that tells the story of the Siege of Ladysmith, from the appalling conditions to military tactics. The museum building is also part of the story. Built in 1884 as a marketplace, it served as a ration p
ost during the 118-day blockade.
