Lago Barreales Paleontology Center, Valley of the Dinosaurs

 
At Centro Paleontológico Lago Barreales, history is made present. More than 400 fossils of sauropods, theropods, ornithopods, pterosaurs, crocodiles, turtles, fish and dinosaur eggs have been uncovered here. Tour the dig site and learn about dinosaurs big and small. Observe paleontologists excavate and clean fossils of all shapes and sizes. Or simply take in the atmosphere at the only dinosaur dig site in Argentina open to the public.

Getting There
 
Lago Barreales Paleontology Center is located roughly 90 km northwest of Neuquen. From Neuquen take Provincial Route 7 to Route 57, direction Añelo. Follow the signs to Lago Barreales.

Guided tours are offered daily 9:00 - 19:00 and include the dig site, labs and exhibit hall. Dig for a day and multi-day dinosaur tours are also offered.

Admission is charged. A reduced rate is available for Argentine citizens. There is no discount for children. Digs and multi-day tours are charged per person.
