The Menor's Ferry Historical District may be a small speck compared to the towering peaks but it merits a visit nonetheless. Follow the short trail to the cabin and country store and take a peek at homesteading in Jackson Hole. Continue on to the Snake River and ride a replica of a turn of the century ferry. And while Bill Menor has long since gone imagine life below the Grand Tetons, one of last areas in America to be settled.
Getting There

Menor's Ferry Historical District is 0.5-miles north of the Moose Entrance Station and is accessible from Teton Park Road. Menor's Ferry Trail is less than 0.5-miles roundtrip.
Things to Keep in Mind

River crossings are dependent on the water level.

Menor's Ferry Historical District may not be heralded by the rangers at Grand Teton National Park (it's not included on their must see list) but it is was a hit with my 9-year-old daughter. Not only did the river crossing on a wooden reaction ferry provided a well-deserved break from nature it brought home facts learned at school.
