Carmen Funes Museum, Valley of the Dinosaurs

 
Museo Municipal Carmen Funes, a small natural history museum established in 1984, is home to the biggest and smallest giants of Patagonia. Marvel at fossils of Argentinosaurus huinculensis, one of the largest dinosaurs yet discovered. View a replica of Giganotosaurus Carolinii, one of the largest theropods. Gawk at dinosaur eggs – both original and replica – found at Auca Mahuevo, a sauropod nesting site. Other exhibits include fossils of plants and reptiles as well as articles related to petroleum.
 
Getting There
 
Museo Carmen Funes is located at Av. Cordoba 55 in Plaza Huincul, Argentina. From Neuquén, take route 22 west for 110 km. The museum is located at the intersection of RA22 and route 17.
