Science Center Nemo houses five floors of hands-on science and technology exhibits. Find out how many molecules make up your body. Blow the biggest soap bubbles you've ever seen. Take a journey through the human body. See cells dividing. Learn about ordinary and extraordinary natural phenomena. Put on a lab coat and safety goggles and experiment with chemistry. Discover the effects of form, strength and balance. Find out how to purify water so that it's safe to drink. Sort balls by size, weight and color with a machine. Watch an interactive show on potential and kinetic energy. Bike through space. Smell, hear, feel and see how the world works at this green building shaped like a ship.
Getting There
 
Science Center Nemo is located at Oosterdok 2 and is situated above the IJ tunnel in the eastern part of central Amsterdam. The museum is a 15 minute walk from Central Station, follow the yellow signposts for the Oosterdok route. City buses 22, 42, and 43 stop near Nemo. There is no onsite parking but there are several car parks nearby.
Hours & Times
 
Nemo is open Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 - 17:00 year around and Monday 9:00 - 18:00 in June, July and August and during official school holidays. Closed January 1, April 30, and December 25. Children's workshops and theatre performances geared to kids aged 6 and older are offered during nearly all Dutch school holidays in fall, winter and spring.
Admission & Fees
 
Entrance is charged to all visitors aged 4+. Children aged 3 and under are free of charge. A reduced rate is available for city pass and young person's cultural pass holders. Tickets can be purchased online and onsite.
Things to Keep in Mind
 
The museum has two caf├ęs and visitors are allowed to bring their own food. Exhibits are updated regularly. All signs are in English and Dutch.
