Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix
The Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden boasts the world’s largest collection of desert plants in a natural setting. And it is a top ten Phoenix attraction even for families traveling with kids. Tour the gardens. Take part in Target Kids’ Corner, offered on Saturday and Sunday from October through February, and in addition to learning about desert plants, make crafts and have fun. Enjoy one or more the many special events, such as the annual Las Noches de las Luminaries, scheduled throughout the year.

Getting there
The Desert Botanical Garden is located at 1201 N. Galvin Parkway in Phoenix and is situated within Papago Park.
Opening hours
The gardens are open daily 7:00-20:00 May through September and 8:00-20:00 October through April. Closed July 4, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas day. Target Kids' Corner take place 10:00 - 15:00 on Saturdays and Sundays from October through February. Concerts are held in the garden each Friday evening from 19:00-21:00 in both fall and spring. Other special events and exhibits are scheduled throughout the year.
Fees
Admission charged. Reduced rates for children aged 3 - 18. Children under 3 years of age are free of charge.

Things to keep in mind
Pick up a copy of the brochure Desert Detective, available free at admissions, and discover how plants and animals survive in the desert. The gardens have a café and garden shop.
