Rorke’s Drift, Dundee
The British restored their honor at Rorke’s Drift, one of the most famous battles of the Anglo-Zulu War. In 1879, the British pushed back repeated Zulu attacks on the field hospital located here. Eleven Victoria Crosses were awarded to the hospital’s defenders and thanks to the 1964 film entitled 'Zulu' the battle gained international repute. The Rorke's Drift Battle Museum located on the site is a top field museum. The main attraction is a model and audio-visual depiction of battles fought in the region. The Evangelical Lutheran Church Arts and Crafts Centre, located nearby, sells hand-woven tapestries, pottery and silkscreen fabrics.
