There are more than 32,500 aquatic creatures waiting to entertain you at the Shedd Aquarium. Meet marine animals from the world’s rivers, reefs, lakes, and oceans. Come face to face with sharks, eels, and a whole host of colorful fish. Get a diver’s-eye view of a diverse marine metropolis. Journey through a year on the Amazon floodplain and learn how the region’s animals, as well as its plants and people, have adapted to the river’s annual rise and fall. Explore a coastal ecosystem and, in addition getting a close up view of beluga whales, Pacific white-sided dolphins, sea otters and sea lions, discover the fishes and invertebrates that make their homes in estuaries, tide pools, and open waters. Put your hands in touch pools and shake arms with sea stars. Slip on a penguin suit and waddle like the flightless bird. Take in a sea show at the Oceanarium. Go on a behind-the-scenes tour.
