Shela Beach, Shela
Dune-fringed Shela Beach extends for 12km (7 miles) along Lamu's western coast. In contrast to the much-lauded Manda Beach, which all but disappears at high tide, Shela Beach is a great place to hunt for shells. And while there are no concessions at any point beyond Shela, locals offers camel rides in the sand.
