A trip to Malindi Handicrafts, the second largest cooperative of woodcarvers in Kenya, is a twofold experience. Not only is this association of over 640 woodcarvers a great place to find high quality painted masks, functional woodcarvings, and animal sculptures, it's the place to watch woodcarvers at work and discover how woodcarvings are made. But don't come here expecting to bargain. Prices are fixed at this carver-owned coop.
