Wonder Cave, believed to be 2.2 million years old, boasts the third largest cave chamber in South Africa and numerous stalactites and stalagmites measuring 15 meters. The cave chamber is 46000 square meters in size; it's 125 m long and 154 m wide. In addition to impressive stalactites and stalagmites, the cave has a resident bat population as well as other drip stone formations including cave popcorn, pearls, soda straws and rimstone pools. The talus cones, shaped like giant, upside down ice-cream cones, found on the cave floor provide insight to changing nature of underground caverns.
