The Zululand Historical Museum, housed in the Beau Geste-style Fort Nongqayi, holds a hodgepodge of historical things and seeks to frame the cross-cultural influences that have shaped the region. Displays include Zulu cultural items, iron age artifacts and battlefield memorabilia as well as mahogany and teak furniture belonging to John Dunn, the only white chief of Zululand.
