We spent a week at Marlin Lodge in late August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent and there was plenty of variety even at lunch, which is smorgasbord. We spent a week at Marlin Lodge in late August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent and there was plenty of variety even at lunch, which is smorgasbord. The rooms were spacious and clean and the chalets far enough apart to ensure privacy (some chalets have two rooms with a shared terrace). The trip to Pansy Island and private picnic on the southern tip of Benguerra Island are not to be missed. We also went a full day fishing trip and caught 3 king mackerel. We didn't see any whale but we were treated to several pods of dolphin. The only disappointment was the snorkeling trip. By the time we arrived at the reef it was beyond low tide and the reef was too far below too really enjoy. The lack of a kids club and other structured children's activities didn't faze our daughter in the slightest. By the end of the first day she had made several new friends and was in a rush to get to the bar an hour before dinner to play Uno, kids only. Bring your beach shoes, at low tide you really do need them!
