Seil Island, Scotland

The charming Atlantic Bridge, built in 1792, provides a fitting introduction to Seil Island, a quaint island just a short drive south of Oban. Cobblestone streets, rolling hills, slate islands and the deep blue sea. Here, boating, hillwalking and sea life viewing ensure a family adventure against nature’s striking background. Easdale Island, the smallest of the slate islands, is just a short ferry ride away and affords great views of the Fladda Lighthouse and the Sound of Luing.

When to travel
The best time of the year to visit the Argyll & Bute area of Scotland is in spring and early summer from April-June. In the peak season, July-August, not only are there crowds, the weather is once again fickle. It is just as likely to be hot and sunny as it is cold and wet.
