Don Donnelly Stables, also known as D-Spur Ranch, offers one of the best horseback adventures in the Phoenix area. Not only is Don Donnelly's D-Spur Ranch a working cattle ranch, they are committed to preserving the cowboy way of life and have the utmost respect for the environment. Horseback adventures range for one-hour trail rides to overnight horsepacking trips. Family Travel Tips: The stables are located in Gold Canyon, Arizona and are situated in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains. All horseback adventures take place in the Superstition Wilderness. The minimum age for trail rides is 8. One-hour rides are gear to beginners. Two-hour rides require a bit of experience. Half-day and full-day rides require more than a bit of stamina. Overnight trips are ideal for families that enjoy horseback riding and are keen to explore the Superstition. Advance reservations are required. Riders should arrive 30 minutes in advance.

Family Travel Tips: Hourly rides and the 4-hour half-day ride take place in the Goldfield Mountains. Three-hour half-day rides, full-day rides and multi-day trips take place in the Superstition Wilderness. Multi-day rides aren't horsepacking trips as all gear is brought in by vehicle. Double riding is not allowed. Children must be at least 8 years of age to ride alone. Children aged 6 - 7 are led on their own horse. Reservations are required. All rides are walk-trot.
