Mather Campground is located in the heart of Grand Canyon Village. The 327-site campground accommodates tents and RVs. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring with a cooking grill. The campground has flush toilets and coin-operated showers and laundry. There are no hook-ups. The terrain is hard and rocky making sleeping pads a must. The general store sells a broad range of goods at a high mark-up. The campground is a short walk from the rim. Family Travel Tips: Mather Campground is open year around. Advance reservations are recommended from March through mid-November and can be made up to 6 months in advance. The campground is first-come, first-served mid-November through February. Leased pets are allowed. Park entrance and camping fees are charged seperately.
