Our stay at the newly refurbished Petley's Inn was a disappointment in every way but one. Our room was noisy, smelled of mildew, and, with an extra bed, had no space to move. To reach the bathroom, we had to crawl over the beds! What's more, the much lauded swimming pool is a mere handkerchief sized square. The rooftop bar is this hotel's one plus. It boasts exceptional views and is one of the best spots for people watching in all of Lamu. Don't stay the night but stop in for a drink.
