It's hard to knock The Phoenician. This palatial resort is simply elegant. Its set on 250 acres of meticulously groomed ground. It boasts a two-acre cactus garden and multi-million dollar art collection. It has nine swimming pool, two of which are reserved for children, eleven tennis courts and a 27-hole championship golf course. It's both close to the action and far from the crowds. The food is excellent. The one complaint? The resort is looking a little bit worn. The service runs hot and cold. Some guest rooms could use a makeover.
