The Protea Hotel Shakaland is neither a plain chain Jane nor a luxury bush lodge. Rather this 4-star accommodation on the site of the Shakaland cultural village affords a taste of Zulu tradition. The cultural program, included in the rate, consists of a guided tour of the homestead as well as cultural shows and displays. Family Travel Tips: The Zulu village is a reconstructed 19th century homestead. Accommodation is in a beehive hut. Both double standard and family rooms sleep two adults and two children. All rooms have TVs and coffee and tea making facilities. There is no air conditioning. The food is just ok. Baby sitting is available.
