Arizona Raft Adventures boasts three generations of rafting experience. And while Lou and Rob have long since retired, Rob's daughter Alexandra and her husband Fred now own and operate the business. Arizona Raft Adventures offers families two very different Grand Canyon rafting expeditions, motor and hybrid. Motor trips are ideal for families with kids aged 10 and up in search of a low energy rafting adventure. Hybrid runs, minimum age of 12, utilize two types of non-motorized rafts - oar and paddle. And while participants aren't guaranteed to paddle 100% of the time, hybrid rafting trips are exciting, challenging and fun. Quotes from Family Travelers: "While we enjoyed everything about the trip, we all enjoyed the side hikes. Jumping from waterfalls, skirting down the Little Canyon River, and seeing ancient pictographs made for incredible family memories." - Passenger J. Doyle 2011. "It is hard to determine one highlight. It was a great family trip and allowed me to see my children expand their horizons. It was wonderful to watch the guides help bring out the best in the kids. The beauty of the canyon and the exhilaration of the river exceeded my expectations." - Passenger D. Williams 2011

We recently returned from a 9 day lower canyon tour with our two children ages 19 and 17. The trip was a spectacular and spiritual connection with nature, history, and each other. The guides were knowledgable and exerienced and made extraordinary efforts towards making sure each guest had a wonderful time. They were well in tune with the teenagers on our trip and were ready with fun activities for quiet water times, thrilling stories and hidden hide aways for the hikes and amazing stories for night time. I would recommend this trip for any family who enjoys adventerous t rips. I would also recommend that all people be in good physical shape to enjoy all the side hikes.
