Moab Adventure Center is all about playing hard. But that doesn't mean novice adventurers should shy away from their excursions. The guides at Moab Adventure Center understand limits. What's more, they work hard to ensure each trip is memorable and carefree for both adults and kids. Families with kids aged 5 and up can bike sliprock behind Moab, ride horses in Castle Creek and raft the Colorado River. Families with kids 10 years of age and older can try their hand at canyoneering. Those with kids aged 12 and up can raft Westwater Canyon. Families with children of all ages can hoop and holler on a hummer tour. While there is no minimum age on guided Fiery Furnace hikes in Arches National Park all participants should be physically fit.

After talking with a rep from Moab Adventure Center we signed up for two area adventures, a full day rafting trip and a sunset hummer safari. Both were exceptional. And not withstanding the 10-year age difference between my 8-year-old daughter and 18-year-old niece both were smiling from ear to ear at the end of each trip. The full-day rafting trip from Fish Towers to takeout beach may be slow compared to the action in Cataract and Westwater canyons but it is ideal for beginners. The excellent guides do more than teach the kids to paddle they go out of their way to make the trip fun. If your children enjoy the water a full-day on the Colorado River is the way to go. The 2-hour hummer safari is a great way to end a day in Moab. Not only is the out and back trail in the Sand Flats Recreation Area, known as Hell's Revenge, lots of fun, the red rock fins found just east of Moab afford a unique panorama. If your kids are into rocking and rolling they will want to sit in the way back above the rear wheels.
