Chaouen Rural, a Catalan funded organization, arranges hiking trips and cultural experiences in the Rif Mountains. One trip explores Bouhachem Nature Reserve on the back of a mule. This 5-day trip includes a tour of Chefchaoen and two days of hiking. Participants eat and sleep in rural homes. The tour includes two workshops, bread baking and wool processing. Family Travel Tips: Trips vary in length from 1 day to 1 week. All excursions have a cultural component. Not all tours are mule pack trips. Guides are fluent in French and Spanish but speak little English.
