Family Travel Tips: Children must be at least 7 years of age to horseback ride. While there is no hard-and-fast minimum age on rafting trips, the minimum weight is 50 lbs (23 kg). Only one Flying Pig adventure - wildlife safari in Lamar Valley - takes place in Yellowstone National Park. Rafting is done on the Yellowstone River outside the park. Horseback rides take place in neighboring Gallatin National Forest.
