Grand Canyon Field Institute, the educational arm of the Grand Canyon Association, offers three outdoor learning adventures for active families. Meet the Canyon, the most popular program, is a half-day or full-day hiking adventure. Learning and Lodging, a two-day weekend package, is a guided educational tour-cum hiking adventure that includes meals and accommodation. Spring Break Camp, a three-day program, is ideal for active families eager to discover the Grand Canyon in detail. Old rocks, ancient inscriptions and breathtaking scenery are an integral part of all three adventures. Discover secret fossil beds. Find out about prehistoric cultures and Native Americans. See some of the most spectacular views in North America. Family Travel Tips: All programs begin and end on the South Rim. Children must be at least 6 years of age to participate. All participants should be in good physical fitness. The length of the hike varies with the skill level of the group.
