Plettenberg Bay-based Ocean Blue offers two types of sea life encounters, ocean encounters and sea kayaking. Ocean encounters are boat-based dolphin, seal and whale-watching adventures. Ocean Blue's at one with the ocean kayak tour explores the coastline from Central Beach to Robberg Nature Reserve and affords a chance to paddles with dolphins, seals, and even whales. Southern Right and Humpback Whales frequent area waters from June through October. Bryde's Whales are permanent residents and are spotted along the coastline year round. Family Travel Tips: All tours depart from Central Beach. Children must be at least 14 years of age to participate in sea kayak tours. There is no minimum age for boat-based ocean encounters. Ocean Blue is a SABBWWA permit holder meaning they can approach whales from 50 meters.
