After much urging, we got the tour guide at our all-inclusive resort to recommend a snorkeling excursion. The trip to El Qulaan, was in his view, the best by far. He wasn't wrong. Of all the Red Sea snorkeling trips, this will long remain in our memory. We saw a great number and great variety of coral and fish. There was plenty to satisfy avid snorkelers. The snorkeling was accessible to young children and novice swimmers at all but one site. There were others boats but no lingering crowds. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and good with children. (Not only di
d they point out fish, they swam with the kids.) The Egyptian buffet lunch was plentiful and delicious. The bus trip to Hamata pier was under an hour, one-way, from our resort in southern Marsa Alam. The trip was reasonably priced.
