New York City may be the Big Apple yet there is more to a family vacation in New York State than the glitz and glamour of the Empire City. Here are few treasures from the trove. View the voluminous Niagara Falls. Eyeball gorgeous gorges and great fall foliage in the area of the state known as Finger Lakes. Head to the Adirondack Mountains for every kind of outdoor recreation. Visit the Catskills and, in addition to discovering mysterious mountains, learn about the land of Rip Van Winkle. Pick apples and pick up history in the Hudson Valley. Take in beaches and boardwalks on Long Island. End the trip in New York City and let kids plan visit.

Mailing letters may be a thing of the past but sending postcards is still a fun thing to do. Postcards are a cool way to tell friends and family about all the amazing things you're seen and done on a family vacation.
Here's how to do it!
Make a list of family and friends you want to tell about your holiday. Get each person's address before you depart. Pick up postcards that show something you've visited or something special you want to share. Don't forget to buy to buy postage stamps! Write the recipients name and address on the right hand side of the card. Write your message on the left. Stick a stamp in the upper right hand corner. Drop the postcard in a mailbox.
